Some Frequently Asked Questions

Can I walk to the beach from the campsite? +

Yes! The secluded sandy beach of Abermawr is only a 20 minute walk through the bluebell woods as well as the neighbouring beach, Aberbach, both of which lie on the Pembrokeshire coast path.

Can I bring my dog? +

Yes, well behaved dogs are welcome in the campsite and Dome, and must be kept on a lead at all times. Please don’t leave your dog unattended as barking dogs annoy everyone!

Is it a family friendly campsite? +

Our campsite is perfect for families! We have a wide open rolling grassy meadow which is a communal space for playing and completely car-free. We ask our campers to respect our quiet talking hours between 10pm and 7am.

We’re two families, but we want to share the same pitch, is this possible? +

Yes, that’s absolutely fine! You can pitch your tents together on the same pitch. Our pricing is per unit, and is up to a maximum of 6 people per unit, so if you have 2 family tents, this means you need to book and pay for 2 units. So even though you are required to book and pay for 2 units, once you arrive you are welcome to pitch up all together on the same grassy pitch. Please do email if you have any questions!

Are we allowed a “pup tent” for the kids on our pitch? +

Sure. We allow one pup tent per unit. No extra charge. You just book and pay for the number of people staying in your unit. Each unit has maximum of 6 people. If you are over 6 people, please book and pay for another unit. There is ample space for a pup tent at the Dome too.

Is there an electric hook-up for my campervan? +

No, the only unit which has electric lighting and power points is the Geodesic Dome, though there are USB charging points you can use for phone and device charging.

Can I park my car next to my tent? +

No, our camping meadow is completely vehicle-free, which makes it safe for children playing and keeps the grass lush and green! We have all-terrain wheelbarrows for transporting your luggage to and from your pitch. The upper pitches such as Gannet’s Ledge and Fulmar’s Nest are closest to the car park. Cars are parked in our private car park by the entrance.

We’d like to come by train, is it possible to reach the campsite in this way? +

Yes! It’s very easy to reach us by train. Our local station is Fishguard and Goodwick, about 15 mins away, from where you can get a taxi (£20) or catch a bus to Mathry village and walk one mile down the hill to Preseli Glamping. For more information, please read our Find Us page.

Is it possible to do a round walk which starts and ends at the campsite? +

Yes. We’ve collated a selection of local circular walks in the local area. Take a trip around the Abermawr valley – Mathry village woodland circuit, walk to the wild Abermawr beach and over to Melin Tregwynt, the iconic Welsh Woollen Mill or explore our other local beaches Pwllstrodur, Abercastle and Pwllcrochan. You can see these maps with route info on the notice board in the Info shed at the campsite.

Is there free WiFi I can connect to at the campsite? +

There is free WiFi available at the top area of the campsite in the car parking area. Picnic tables are provided to sit at. Here there is also an interactive map of Pembrokeshire and lots of info in the Info shed about adventures and activities bookable locally plus places to eat and buy food nearby which will help you plan your days out and book experiences online.

How many bathrooms are there? +

We have a brand new sparkling bathroom and shower block with 4 seperate bathrooms, each with a hot power shower, toilet and sink. Outside the bathroom block there are hot water dish-washing facilities and a drinking water tap. Hot water courtesy of our air-source heat pump.
