Some Frequently Asked Questions

Can I walk to the beach from the campsite? +

Yes! The secluded sandy beach of Abermawr is only a 15 minute walk through the bluebell woods as well as the neighbouring beach, Aberbach, both of which lie on the Pembrokeshire coast path.

Can I bring my dog? +

Yes, well behaved dogs are welcome in the campsite, and must be kept on a lead at all times. Please don’t leave your dog unattended as barking dogs annoy everyone! We’re sorry but they cannot come into the eco lodge if you’re eating your meals there, however, you can bring them over to eat outdoors at a picnic table outside the lodge.

Is it a family friendly campsite? +

Our campsite is perfect for families! We have a wide open rolling grassy meadow which is a communal space for playing and completely car-free. We ask our campers to respect our quiet talking hours between 10pm and 7am.

We’re two families, but we want to share the same pitch, is this possible? +

Yes, that’s absolutely fine! You can pitch your tents together on the same pitch. Our pricing is per unit, so if you have two family tents, this means you have two units.

Are we allowed a “pup tent” for the kids on our pitch? +

Sure. We allow one pup tent per unit. No extra charge.

Can I park my campervan on my pitch? +

No, our camping meadow is completely vehicle-free, which makes it safe for children playing and keeps the grass lush and green! Campervans can park up in our car parking area which has lovely sea views and is next to the bathroom block. Campervans will also have a pitch space on the meadow for 1 pup tent (if for example you have children who aren’t sleeping in the van), relaxing, using the fire pit and picnic table. We recommend choosing one of the higher pitches such as Gannet’s ledge so that your pitch is near your campervan.

Is there an electric hook-up for my campervan? +

No, the only unit which has electric lighting and power points is the Geodesic Dome.

Can I park my car next to my tent? +

No, our camping meadow is completely vehicle-free, which makes it safe for children playing and keeps the grass lush and green! We have all-terrain wheelbarrows for transporting your luggage to and from your pitch. The upper pitches such as Gannet’s Ledge and Fulmar’s Nest are closest to the car park.

We’d like to come by train, is it possible to reach the campsite in this way? +

Yes! It’s very easy to reach us by train. Our local station is Fishguard and Goodwick, about 15 mins away, from which you can get a taxi very cheaply. We also offer free train station pick-ups and drop-offs in our minibus for certain trains. For more information, please read our Find Us page.

Is it possible to do a round walk which starts and ends at the campsite? +

Yes. We’ve collated a selection of maps which you can pick up from the eco lodge reception, each showing circular walks in the local area. Take a trip around the Abermawr valley woodland circuit, walk to the wild Abermawr beach and over to Melin Tregwynt, the iconic Welsh Woollen Mill or explore our other local beaches Pwllstrodur, Abercastle and Pwllcrochan.

We would like to do one of Preseli Venture’s adventure holidays, can we do this whilst staying in the campsite instead of the lodge? +

Is there wifi I can connect to at the campsite? +

How many bathrooms are there? +
